It was my first time going to a Chingay parade and I enjoyed myself thoroughly. From taking pictures to cheering, I had a lot of fun. I liked the performances and I saw that when the performers were performing, they had bright smiles on their faces and I felt that they really enjoyed what they were doing. Also, I spotted some people of other races performing for a performance about a specific race. It reminded me that Singapore is a multiracial society and I am glad that all the races work together as one. What left me the deepest impression was that I saw so many performers performing together for Chingay because it shows us that they are all united as one. The floats were also beautifully decorated and I felt grateful for the hardwork that people put in to build the floats. During the parade, we also cheered very loudly. We were shaking our pompoms and shouting at the top of our lungs. I felt very proud. The Chingay parade was truly an eye-opener, a very meaningful and fulfilling event and I am glad that we had this chance to go.
