Last month, we went for a Chingay rehearsal parade. We came to school to have an early dinner before setting off for our destination. On the bus, I thought that Chingay would be a very boring parade where we just sit there and look at people with different costume dancing or walking pass us. I even thought that I was there just to complete this project. However, when we reached, I realised I was terribly wrong. My friends around me was actually enjoying the atmosphere and they were taking the pom-poms and shaking them around. Upon seeing that, I slowly understand that we were here not to finish this project but to be proud that we are there, and being part of the parade and all the Singaporeans with different background come together to enjoy this parade. I also had friends performing and I was so excited to see them there and I was so proud to be their friend. During the whole time, although I wasn't crazily shaking the pom-poms, I feel like we should really slow down what we are doing and start looking at things around us and be sensitive with our friends or the environment around us. Going to this excursion trip really make me think about a lot of things and I am really happy to be able to attend the parade and be part of it. On the way back to school, I was really tired but I enjoyed this fruitful day and I think all of the tiredness was worth it.
