Qian Hui's holiday

Two and a half months of holidays passed just over a week ago. Holidays can be time to have fun, time to catch up in studies, or maybe for some, merely days that there isn't school.
In my year-end holidays 2013, I had a mixture of different feelings, ranging from happiness to stress and maybe a tint of regret.
From the start of holidays to nearing the end of November, I had several cca sessions. From outdoor cooking to tying knots to many many more interesting stuff. I learnt many different skills and outdoor skills.
After that, I had more time to myself. For the first week of the December holidays I went to Qingdao, China. Seated in the plane for six hours, I landed in Qingdao international airport. When we stepped out of the airport, I was already shivering at the strong winter winds, causing me and my family to huddle closely together. The experience that gave me the deepest impression was going to the seasides in Qingdao. Instead of the sandy beaches I was accustomed to, the beach was made of mud. Although the mud was not too soft, I could feel my shoe sinking into it if I don't move around for awhile. My family walked around the beach and found many different creatures in the mud, for example multi-coloured starfish. The colour of the starfish was so ravishing that I could not help but take many pictures of it.
Around the beach there were many people that were shoveling and out of curiosity we decided to take a look, and it turned out that they were digging the ground to look for star fishes. (poor star fish) I thought of the mesmerizing starfish I saw awhile ago and wished it good luck in running away. However the scene that shocked me the most were there were some people wearing swimming trunks and running alongside the beach. I wouldn't give a second thought if it was summer but it was such a chilly day in winter! My hands were already turning numb in those low temperatures and they were running around in such skimpy clothing. I heard though, that it would increase a person's stamina but I don't think I'm going to try that. It was very relaxing at the beach and the air was so fresh. I regret not buying more souvenirs and taking more pictures of the beautiful scenery there! It was a wonderful place I would like to visit it again.
After the trip, back to Singapore! The last few weeks of the holidays passed by quickly and it consisted of mostly finishing up my homework and studying.
I had a fun and enriching experience this holidays and I hope you enjoyed reading my entry. :)
